A Few Good Finds
Found some clear glass items this weekend...
...my favorite is this old English medicine jar with this interesting latch system on top...
Here are two old clear glass dog candy containers...
...love that Scottie!
...a pretty little creamer with a touch of gold and hint of green...
The bottom of the medicine jar says...
Davies & Geck, Inc. Patent applied for
Trademark Recd in US & Gr Britian
New York, London
An assortment of old silver and silver plate spoons
If anyone knows anything about Hallmarks and silver...
...let me know what you think about these old pieces!
...a great assortment of tinware...
muffin tins and pans.
The larger muffin tins are marked US 1941.
There were more tins too...
...just didn't have time to clean them up for photos yet!
Also found were some linens and lace....
...have to save some pictures for later on in the week!
Tomorrow my Mom and Dad leave for a few days so I will be getting ready for the July 4th crowds and hopefully have time to work on my art projects too!
I hope that you have had a wonderful weekend!
:)

Laura, You have some wonderful finds. I bought a similar jar at a garage sale recently and I didn't know its original use until now. Thanks for sharing. There is a great site I use often for silver hallmarks. It is www.925-1000.com.

spoons spoons and more spoons ... the more the better
Love the muffins tins but never thought of them as collectable. Wow! Wonder how many I've thrown out through the years. Thanks for sharing your finds. It's fun to see what people are buying.
Have a great week!

Muffin tins are great for storing crayons, or pastel chalks. Coming from one artist to another...;) Great finds there! I'll be posting mine this week as well. I love fun, vintage discoveries! ;)bb
Great finds!
My SIL has a Scottish Terrier and I have given her one of those Scotty candy dishes...it is very cute.

I just bought a BUNCH of old silver at a flea market here in Poland. When I came home I just googled some of the trademarks and found some of my forks and spoons date from the late 1800's! We will be using them in our shop in Krakow. Can you believe this old silver was actually cheaper than buying new flatware?
Great finds, happy day!
hugs,
Rhonda
Absolutely love those spoons!

HOW I love your finds! One of my glass fronted cabinets is done in white, clear and silver (with patina...of course!) I really love your medicine bottle. I have a similar one but mine was for baby formula...it's by Borden.
Laura, I would say that's much, much more than a few good finds!

Beautiful as always...lovin' that jar! xo..deb
My goodness, you really have my number!
I would go for just about every single thing you dragged home.....
I, too, love old silverware. I know absolutely nothing about the hallmarks. I just know what I like and that is old silverware. I really like that second from the right spoon. The one that looks like it has a "lean to the right" quality.........
We collect the same things!! I use the silverware in wind chimes and for stamping. Sometimes, after I polish them up, they are too nice to alter, so they go right in my silverware drawer for daily use!!!
Great stuff! I've been gathering smaller muffin tins here lately to hold my smaller scrapbook items, like brads and clips and page corners. I could use a few more! Have a great week. I enjoy your blog.
I'm a sucker for anything silver and the more tarnished, the better. I love your finds for their texture and varying mix of glass, tin, and silver. I tend toward the monochromatic so combinations of glass, grey, cream and whites are my favorites!
I found some very cool treasures today also. I will try and post tomorrow..but you know the drill...photograph, download, write, post
Love the glass dogs and the silver spoons.
Had to laugh. You know I am cleaning out. Well, I just gave all kinds of baking tins away. If I had known..........
Hugs, Evi
