Alone Time and a Little Art Retreat
I have taken myself on a mini art retreat....
...up to the lake house...
...all alone.
I brought art supplies...lots of them...
my books, magazines....
I have lots of cleaning and preparation to do for the company that will be coming this summer...
...so I should be pretty busy for the next few days...
...but I am alone...
Mr. Flea and Starla are home.
The drive up was long and leisurely...
...stopped at two of my favorite antique shops...
...took my time...
...found some fun little things.
I used to crave alone time...it seemed like every single moment of my day was filled with other people talking...needing something from me.
Not so long ago...I led a very busy life.
Today I am alone and so far am enjoying the space, the quiet and the simple natural beauty of the lake and mountains.
In a few hours it will be dark...
...I think I will be missing Mr. Flea and Starla then.
Hopefully there won't be any bears around...
I was told at the store that frost was expected tonight...brr
...and no one to cuddle with!
I will report in tomorrow to let you know how I survived the night and how my art projects are coming! Have a good night! :)
I can do this!
Oh, it sounds wonderful. Have fun, sleep well and just refresh yourself. Blessings to you.
ReplyDeleteLovely quiet time tucked away in the mountains...awe.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like a movie theme, going to the lake house to commune with nature. A little scary if it is in the wilderness, but at the same time exhilarating. A place for spiritual repleneshment. Love your photos, can't think what those trumpet flowers are. Would love to see some pictures of your hideaway. Enjoy yourself.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE alone time......it seems as tho I never get it very often.

ReplyDeleteI read your words, and I nod when I do it. I recognize the feelings, the need of quietness, of beeing alone and to do things just for myself sometimes.

ReplyDeleteIt all sounds so wonderful! I do like having time alone, I tend to accomplish more.
You really are making the most of not working anymore, a new life with quality you time!
I work from home and am on my own from 9am to 3.30pm. I do enjoy being by myself then.

Ohhhhh....I long for a little frost Laura =)
ReplyDeleteThis morning as I ran, trying to dodge the tiny raindrops on my head, I thought about the day in the not so long from now future, where I will not be doing this. And I smiled =)
Laura -- you are doing what I dream of doing. In fact, reading about your journey up there, your stops at the antiques stores, etc... hit so close to home for me I realized I was on the verge of tears. (Silly, huh?).
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your time -- what a gift.
XOXO
