Hello Laura! I love buttons and you have some beautiful colored ones. Sounds like you had a nice quiet Sunday at home with good food and family. Ours was a quite day too but it was sunny and windy and sweater weather. I introduced the gosslings to a puddle today...they LOVED it and had it been deeper they would have swam. They tried hard by skidding across the water on their bellies and had a great old time eating grass. It was a good day. I hope you have a wonderful day tomorrow with sunshine and warm temperatures. Take care. Maura
I love old buttons. My birthday last year hubby and I went to a flea market and I was lucky enough to find two big canning jars full of old buttons. Some mother of pearl, some bakelite, tons of different buttons. No one could understand why I was so happy that was my birthday gift!
I love buttons... my button jar is filled mostly with extra buttons that were purchased when I was making my daughter's clothes (30+ years ago)... I misplaced my button jar for a couple of years (after my divorce) & mourned those memories... ONLY to find the button jar six months ago.
I have your blog listed as one of my "FAVS" - hope you don't find???
You can see my button post here (2/20/10): http://silverlinings4me.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html
HI Laura Sounds like you are having a wonderful time.. Love your button collection.. mine is predominately... white and cream.. and mother of pearl.. you get the drift... Enjoy your day.. xxx Julie
Sitting outside with a lot of magazines...............drinking wine.................eating cheese....and bread......with my husband.........enjoy our sunday...................lovely........relaxed !!
The rain never reached us here but I had painting and decoupaging plans and would feel guilty if I didn't see them through! Then my honey cooked dinner!
my idea of the sunday was: Spring Therapy..but we were lucky to have a sunny day, otherwise I'll think about button therapy myself...I've collected them and they are everywhere in the house...
Sounds like you had a wonderful Sunday, Laura. Your buttons are beautiful. We drove back from the farmhouse (it was hard to not be able to work on my garden there) on a beautiful and sunny day and I sat on our front steps at home in the city, enjoying the sun.
I love buttons, but only the white ones! Who would have guessed that?
Sure wish I could make it to Marcys sale, but we will be coming to Mass. that next week and it's to far to travel back to back! Hope you guys have a wonderful time!
Oh I love old buttons, Laura. I wonder why the old ones seem so much nicer that modern ones ? I think that I told you that, when I was a child, my mum had a button jar and I loved putting my hands in it and twirling them around. Then, I would tip them all out and examine them all !!Then, I would put them all back in and listen to them jangle as they hit the glass of the jar. Sounds as if you had a lovely Sunday. We watched some of the London marathon and then, did some work in the garden. XXXX
Hello Laura, your button post inspired me to finally take time to list 52 Flea on The PORCH & Atelier blog roll today! I love your posts -if 'inspiring' is a tired word in this secondhand world, think of a better one for me, OK? I'm impressed by and truly enjoy what you offer here - thank you, TERESA
Your buttons are gorgeous, and sounds like you had a wonderful sunday,my sunday was spent pulling up my kitchen floor. At least we got it all finished :)
It amazes me how many times people post about the same thought - we're having a rainy day in Maryland too! I like your buttons - that's happy to me! I cook! Come visit out of the rain, Jennifer jennsthreegraces
Dear Laura, how beautiful these buttons are! Sunday I visited a fabric market. It was such a variety of fabrics that I hardly was able to decide.... Warm regards Iris ♥
Love your buttons Laura! I'm always actracted by them...they're decorative and beautiful to be seen! A nice Sunday you had! I went to the beach yesterday..my first time in bikini this year! I like the sun specially in this season...perfect temperatures!!! Happy new week! Vale
There's something therapeutic about sorting buttons to music on a rainy day. I love sorting my papers out in the same manner. But for now it is making hay while the sun shines here and I spread all my utensils out as far and wide as I can while I create outside in the sun. Hmmm - buttons too hey? xxx Ange
Sounds like a beautiful and relaxing day. The buttons look so pretty like that!
ReplyDeleteBest wishes for a happy week,
Natasha.
