The vintage suitcase looks a bit lost on the carpet of pine needles.... The straw hat with ivory grosgrain ribbon is quite old and a favorite in my collection of vintage hats... The silk fabrics in the two Victorian blouses are tissue paper thin and although in less than perfect condition...I love the colors in both...the pale blue and the light coffee colored one with the blue lining... Beautiful creamy lace... I'm a hopeless romantic...
You are very good with your pictures! I love the suitecases! I'm trying to regather a collection of them. For some crazy reason I got rid of mine! Thanks for sharing! Hugs, Lisa
Hi Laura, Your pictures are so beautiful! Thanks so much for coming by my blog & leaving such a nice comment! It really does make your day huh? Really love your blog & your style.....
Oh, what stories there must be behind your pictures! I began to get quite worried when I realised that 'a Lady' had left some key items of clothing behind... Relax, Floss, this is fantasy...
Seriously, the blouses are both particularly wonderful. There is a crochet blouse hanging up in our local thrift shop, which is probably a similar age although much less fine - however, they are asking 30 euros for it, so it will have to stay there!
Oh Laura...that was lovely, I really enjoyed that post....It was like a little story unravelling. I love every item, especially the silk blouses...I would wear them now...beautiful, you old romantic.
Ciao Laura! You're photos are enchanting! I'm hopelessly romantic too...a bit disappointed, but...I'd like to wear this elegant dress and hat and to leave for a very long journey around the world...but with whom??? Big hugs my friend and don't change!!! Vale
The lost suitcase looks like an image from an old movie. The gray blouse is my favorite with the fabric buttons. So sad that the fabric is too delicate to wear! xxx...C
Hi Laura, Thanks for stopping by. To answer your ? re the location of the Brooklyn "Junk Store", I am not certain of the exact address as I just get off the subway and make my way there without noticing the signs--it is off the Jefferson "L" stop in Bushwick-- a short walk- a hole in the wall looking kind of place except that it's huge and crammed full - no prices marked - just grab an armful of treasure and make your way to the front and a sweet old gentleman will tell you how much you owe. I don't let my daughter go alone as some would consider it a sketcy area. Hope you find it! ~Jermaine~
This post could be called th Prelude to Halloween: a black naughty spider when up one of the mysterious lady's black ankle boots...she yelled....she lost her luggage...there went her hat...her clothes...and puff...she disappeared ;)
