The vintage suitcase looks a bit lost on the carpet of pine needles....
The straw hat with ivory grosgrain ribbon is quite old and a favorite in my collection of vintage hats...
The silk fabrics in the two Victorian blouses are tissue paper thin and although in less than perfect condition...I love the colors in both...the pale blue and the light coffee colored one with the blue lining...

ReplyDeleteSeriously, the blouses are both particularly wonderful. There is a crochet blouse hanging up in our local thrift shop, which is probably a similar age although much less fine - however, they are asking 30 euros for it, so it will have to stay there!

The lost suitcase looks like an image from an old movie. The gray blouse is my favorite with the fabric buttons. So sad that the fabric is too delicate to wear!

To answer your ? re the location of the Brooklyn "Junk Store", I am not certain of the exact address as I just get off the subway and make my way there without noticing the signs--it is off the Jefferson "L" stop in Bushwick-- a short walk- a hole in the wall looking kind of place except that it's huge and crammed full - no prices marked - just grab an armful of treasure and make your way to the front and a sweet old gentleman will tell you how much you owe. I don't let my daughter go alone as some would consider it a sketcy area.
