The Frost is on the Pumpkin!

I took these pictures the other day while home on lunch hour...it was sunny but cool...a perfect autumn afternoon...

The air felt crisp and clear...
...but things change so quickly...
...it's hard to believe that today was cold with freezing rain and even some snow!

I found this beautiful book by Hayward Young at a church sale this past spring...
...the same sale where we found those beautiful old stained glass doors...

It contains beautiful full page colored illustrations...

It's too soon for the frost to be on the pumpkin!!
I hope it warms up again and we have some more crisp and clear beautiful fall weather before winter moves in...

Think I will be nesting this weekend....
...looking forward to a few calm and restful days...and hope the same for you!

  4. What a beautiful book.
This change in weather every couple of days sure makes it hard to know what to do, what to cook and how to dress! We haven't seen the sun in days!!!
    Enjoy your nesting.

  5. Oh, there are those gorgeous white pumpkins again, Laura. We don't have them here in the U.K. The only way that I could get my hands on them is to grow them myself !!!!That little book on sketching is lovely....wasn't he English ? A lovely Autumn collection, Laura. XXXX

Love the white pumpkin! I had several of those in my store....but, the ladies bought them all. :)

  27. I just discovered your blog tonight as I was flitting from blog to blog as I do late at night while my husband is working the night shift. We have many things in common and I find your blog to be very imaginative and a great joy to read. I love your little vignettes. I am fond of decorating and autumn is my favorite season. I must admit that I am looking forward to decorating for Christmas and have already begun thrifting new treasures in anticipation. Thanks for sharing your lovely creations!
