Tonight's post is to compliment
Carole's posting on the barn with all the old architectural pieces that we passed on our trip through the middle of New York state's beautiful countryside....
She showed you some marvelous closeups of all the spindles and shutters, doors and windows that are piled up alongside this old red barn...
I thought you might like to see a wider shot and just how much stuff there really is leaning up against this big old barn...
It is a veritable treasure trove of old windows and doors...
...and if you need shutters...
spindles...
or columns...this is the place!
I have a few more pictures of Carole taking her close up shots in this setting....but we're both a bit camera shy and have an "agreement" so I left those out (even though she looked so darn cute in her straw hat!)...
...We're half way through the week...hope it's going well!
:) Laura

Laura what a beautiful find, I showed my husband and he said it was a good thing I wasn't there...I probably would left my girls there to make room for all those gorgeous columns lol He was just kidding...really he was...hmmm how long do you think it would take to get from there to Ca? I mean the farm house looks comfy :) Rose
Oh Laura, I want a big red barn near me.....and those shutters....I go all funny when I see shutters!!!! I love them.
Am rather disappointed that we didn't see pictures of you and Carole, especially in her straw hat.....but I respect your privacy...I think that we are all a little like that...keep the mystery that's what I say.
My computer's a little bit poorly at the moment (like Caroles apparently) so it might be a few days before I can comment properly...am doing this on my daughters but it is very hard to prise it out of her hot little hands but will try to comment as much as I can. XXXX

WOW!! wish I had a Red Barn like that...the one in our town is a drive-through convenience store...buy beer & smokes w/o gettin' out of your truck. That's Florida for you! :o} *elaine*
Quite the incredible treasure trove against that barn wall. Looks like it was a beautiful day too.
Love this barn filled with these old building supplies. Love the shutters, they are seldom seen second hand up here. I have recently visited a similar place over here, but the blogpost is still in my sleeve
;-) Have a great day!
Love the barn pictures! Lucky you "two" to see this beauty:) Have a blessed day!
Great fun looking at all these lovely cast-offs. If only they would cast them my way! xx Julie

Wait a minute... I live in Upstate NY and in all my days have never happened on this gem. Lead the way, was it a shop or someone with a problem? Not that it's a bad problem, heaven knows I've got a few problems of my own...
Erica
Wow, all those for sale?
How beautiful, I adore old shutters, even with the peeling paint adding old charm and whimsy, all the good things.
I also like the window frames, what a huge collection they have amassed?
Leave it to you two gals to find this amazing collection of archtiectural relics!
Marjorie
what an incredible place close from NYcity.

I like "My Symphony" and your design of the good stuff. Keep posting!
This reminds me of one of my favorite local junkin' haunts, here in NC. I've posted about it several times. I can never get enough of the place! It's a like going on a treasure hunt every time I visit.
So, did you stop in this Junker's Wonderland?
Blessings,
