Junking Finds in the Adirondacks
These are the goodies that I have picked up over the last week.....The Madonna above has the most amazing eyelashes and her halo serves as a planter for flowers....
Loving these dueling vintage desk lamps....
Vintage tole tray and folding ruler with brass findings...
Kitchen utensils....Sir Walter Raleigh tobacco tin, inkwell and pretty blue bowl....
Pair of wire racks (for pamphlets or literature of some kind).....both for 50 cents!
Vintage typewriter.....check out those green keys! The best part is the cover was monogrammed with the owner's initials and it had a sticker from my very own college!!
Cornucopia to go to sister MaryBeth who hosts our Thanksgiving dinner...assorted pottery and glassware, quilted mini pillow, Rook game cards, wooden spool of green yarn....and three clam shell or oyster dishes?
White ironstone pitcher and bowl, silver plate serving pieces...
Love the detail of this old dish...
And I love these little cutters....
When not junking or cooking or eating or taking walks.....the girls sat down by the lake...looking at magazines, reading and chatting....we were blessed with the best weather this week!
Tomorrow we expect another ten family members to arrive....what fun!
I want to go junking in the Adirondacks! You found lots of great things. I love the canape cutters best (with their tin case!) and the wire racks are a close second. Thanks for the peek :)

ReplyDeleteHow fun! I'm not sure which I enjoy more, family or junk. Hmmm....Enjoy both! ~Mindy
ReplyDeleteCool stuff. I saw a lamp like that at a thrift store today but past it up cuz I thought they wanted too much.

Wonderful things, so beautifully photographed. I have some Catholic memorabilia too, but somehow don't feel so comfortable with it, as my heritage is Protestant - it seems a bit cheeky to collect something that others hold sacred. Do you have a Catholic background, if it's not too nosey to ask?
ReplyDeleteThe Adirondacks AND junking??? Nirvana!! The shell dishes are scallop shells...I collect the small purple scallop shells we find on the beaches here in cental Florida...about the size of a big toenail and purple in all shades! Have a awesome trip & keep sharing the junk! *elaine*
ReplyDeleteI'm with Jenny....you have the best antique/flea markets....I want to live near you Laura !!!! and you always find such lovely little pieces....I want to live near you AND take you with me, as I think it's your good eye that finds all of those lovely little trinkets.
