My Mom's pretty pink peonies...
...next door, here at the lake.
She loved these...and so do I.
Mom was very talented at flower arranging
and used to enjoy fixing up bouquets
from her garden to set about the house.
Dad says there wasn't a flower that she didn't love.
Here it is July and there are still some buds yet to bloom.
So pretty!
We have been busy here at the lake with lots of company...
...both friends and family.
This weekend we will be celebrating Independence Day
with a flea market, picnic, parade and fireworks.
There will be 13 of us this year and it is always a lot of fun.
Wishing you happy summer days!
:)
Oh my gosh how beautiful!!! We are heading to camp on the 4th !!!! Hoping to make it to Charlie johns by early afternoon!! Have a wonderful 4th!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's wonderful when someone you love leaves behind a legacy like this...the peonies are just beautiful. I dry mine by just letting them sit in the vase until the water evaporates. I've had some last for almost two years.
ReplyDeleteWishing you a wonderful holiday. We will be at our lake, too, celebrating until Sunday! :)
XO,
Jane
My dad was the gardener at our house when I was growing up. He took pride in his peonies, and bring bouquets to my mom. One of the varieties was just like your moms. I can almost smell them from here. Have a great Fourth!
