Aged Beauty

Feeling a bit melancholy ...
...I am sure it has to do with the time of year...
...and perhaps having to say goodbye to sister Lynn who I won't get to play with for a few months.

Recently, I found this beautiful antique diploma
from Casenovia Seminary school.

Another aged beauty...
...an antique sampler in sepia tones...
...it resides in a bedroom at the lake house.

...and a sweet painting by a member of my Nana's family...

Sister Mary Beth just called...
It's time to snap out of my moment of melancholy
and gear up for some fun!
I must be the luckiest girl alive to have two amazing sisters!

Heading to Connecticut to see my dear friend
and junking buddy Paula and then on to Brimfield, MA.
Hoping to find a few more aged beauties!
:)
Hope you all are adjusting to new schedules
and the changing time of year.

  9. I so envy you getting to go to Brimfield! How FUN that will be. I am looking forward to photos of your trip.

We are still in the depths of summer in Texas with temperatures well over the mid 100's so it's hard for me to feel melancholy with it being so hot but, I AM looking forward to much cooler temperatures next week in the high 80's. At this point, I'd take anything less than 100!!

    Enjoy your trip!

  20. What is it about things of old that tug at our heartstrings? Is it the lives of the hands that held them? The story of their journey? I am not sure what it is, but I do know that my heart skips a beat when I see them.
