Continuing on with our pictorial review of all the goodness
that was to be seen at Madison Bouckville this year...
Have you ever seen so many locks in one place?
You would think that I still cook by these photos...
:)
Yes, it is a wicker casket!
Ahem.....
a two seater.
I. love. this. blue.
...from an old drive-in movie theater!
This is Martha MacDonald from Tara's Treasures.
Her booth was full of lots of little treasures
all arranged in wonderful and creative vignettes.
It was her first time selling at Bouckville
and she was mobbed on the first day...
...with city dealers actually fighting over her merchandise!
I met Martha for the first time a number of years ago
when she was set up at Warrensburg.
I loved her look then...and still do now!
This creative artist had some wonderful steam punk type lamps.
I took his card but can't find it...so if you know his name...
please let me know so I can give him proper credit.
Two young Amish men carrying a treadle machine
that they purchased for one of their wives.
wood hat molds...
A printer's type cabinet...almost exactly like the one I bought from my friend Deanna's shop Gather in Ivoryton, CT.
Still hoping to bring mine back to this beautiful state!
And I just couldn't resist these last two shots...
You just never know what you will find...
...or who will buy what!
:)
More photos to come!
WOW! What a lot of loot! My first thoughts upon seeing the paddock locks was if any of them came from the railings of Pont des Arts bridge over the Seine where lovers attach them. You can never tell? I love all the white pottery and dishes and that printers type cabinet. So really cool things! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a collection and such a variety.
ReplyDeleteI would have had trouble restraining myself from buying.
Have a great week

ReplyDeleteA very nice flea market.
ReplyDeleteMost of the goods offered, I would have probably taken home. Very nice is also the decoration. For example, many of these padlocks on a table. Have a nice day and best regards from Germany

I was supposed to go...last minute I couldn't, now I'm sick. BUT I'll be there next year. Do they always have it around the same week in August?? Where is a good place to stay nearby? We were going to wing it. Driving from the Rochester area. Love the post !
ReplyDeleteSo many fun treasures for sale. My favorite is the beauty shop sign. It reminds me of the one I passed up in a local shop. :@
ReplyDeleteMornin' Laura...catching up with you this morning and loving your photos!
ReplyDeleteSeeing all these treasures, can't wait for Brimfield!
I was dreading work on Monday morning, but I took a peek at your post and made my day a little brighter!I can put my computer screen out of hiding and actually do some work! I love the Amish boys and their sewing machine!
ReplyDeleteLooks awesome! <3 flea markets and antiques shows!
ReplyDeleteI have a friend whose dad was an undertaker. He has one of those wicker caskets. He told me it's called a body basket and was used to carry the body from the home (or place of death) and not a burial casket.
