We had a few lovely, quiet days at the lake...
...enjoying the beauty all around us...
while opening up the camp for the season,
and cleaning up the yard and garden.
On the trip up we made a quick stop at the booth
and added a few things.
I will have to return soon and spend some time alone...
if you know what I mean...
...to do a major overhaul to my little space.
On the way home we passed through a small town
that was holding a town wide yard sale.
With only a short amount of time and an indulgent Mr. Flea...
...I was able to find a few treasures.
And then yesterday we went to a local church sale.
I love church sales.
Where else can you find something priced for a dime?
Feeling a bit ashamed and as if I was taking advantage
of the kindly lady who was minding her table of bric a brac...
I offered her a few bills and told her to give the rest to her church.
Among my finds were these two old books from the 1890's....
...and this child's necklace with a heart made from mother of pearl.
I hope you had a good weekend too.
Did you do anything fun? Get any gardening done?
Thanks so much for dropping by...
:)

ReplyDeleteAnd what good little things you found. Church sales are the best! And I just did the same over weekend...gave a few more dollars. I felt too guilty paying .05 each for super cute vintage childrens books! :)

what sweet finds! I know what you mean. I feel that way sometimes when I find something which is terribly underpriced. I found a metal pastry board (will blog soon about it) that is designed to hold a rolling pin which is from the mid 1800s this past weekend. As I toted it around the flea for the remainder of the day, numerous people stopped me and asked if I knew what I had. They all noted that it with the rolling pin it is worth 10 times what i paid.
ReplyDeletehave a good one
