A Sampling Of Sights At The Flea

Monday's trip to the Webster Flea was lots of fun...
The day was absolutely gorgeous...
..a cool morning in the high 50's
and a beautiful afternoon in the mid 70's.

Mr. Flea came with me!
It was nice to have his company and have a driver...
BUT... having him there meant that we had to stop at
every single booth with a musical instrument...
...and spend at least 10 minutes whenever we came across a guitar.

He also wanted to spend time in the "non-antique" section...
looking for a baseball cap and a leather wallet.

I have no patience for that type of flea market.
None.
But...fair is fair.
And...I did get a giant size chocolate ice-cream cone out of the deal.
:)
Chocolate is the only flavor as far as I am concerned.

Not Mr. Flea.
He tried kumquat.
That's right...a kumquat ice cream cone.
He claims it was delicious!

I usually never eat much food at the fleas...
...or dally around.
I'm focused.
I'm in...and out... pretty darn quick.
Looking solely for my kind of thing...
and once I've seen all that's to be seen that's old, antique or junky...
I'm out of there...

We stayed longer than usual on Monday.
Not because there was that much more to be seen...

It was just due to our different agendas.
But really,
he was a good sport...
...and we had a great time together.

I loved this blue enamel milk pail.
A lot.
But...I'm too cheap...
...and the dealer wanted too much.
And, as Mr. Flea pointed out...
I already have a boat load of blue enamel ware.
That's the other problem when Mr. Flea comes along.
He's just so sensible.

Why didn't I buy one of these?

Never too many keys...

OK, I'll stop right here.
Check out the bullet holes.

I actually did better this week finding treasures
at a little trash to treasure sale in Dad's retirement village
as well as the local thrift stores.

Hope your week is going well friends!
:)
Thank you for all your kind comments!
And a big welcome to new friends, followers and passers by!

  3. Perfect weather, hubby by your side and lots of good things to look at and maybe buy....love that chair Laura.
The trouble with husbands is that they have, as you say, their own agenda and, they just don't understand sometimes !!!
Sounds as if you are both enjoying yourselves. Much love. XXXX

  4. Yes, I'm the same way! For my Hubby it's the tool section. I rather go alone but, I do love his company. I usually get lunch out of the deal!! Not bad for a afternoon.

  5. You didn't even take a lick of the kumquat? Now I'll never know if kumquat ice cream is actually good. Guess I'll just have to trust Mr. Flea's judgement, but seriously, can I?

  6. I say just tell Mr. Flea to keep his phone on-he goes his way-you go yours. That's how we do it! It works. My husband winds up on the bench or in the truck. Works for me.

When we go to CA we have dozens of shops to get to and she wants to explore each one to the very deepest corner and I am already by the front door saying "uh, c'mon we have to keep moving" lol

but any shared day with one we love is always good. :D

I NEVER walk around with my husbond when we very seldom takes off together for flea`s...we take each our own way- and meets up for a talk, or to go home :) that way we both are satisfied with the day, lol.
    Happy week-end to you.

  40. I don't have room for one more chair in our house, but if I did.....that upholstered one would have come home with me - and the small table beside it, of course!

The blue and white pottery, too.

I have my own pace when shopping thrift stores. It's just best for me to go it alone. Hubby DOES come along sometimes but brings a book in case our paces don't match :)
