I slept in the Princess room...snug and cozy with tiny mice
and Midnight, Paula's cat!
:)
The lights on the Christmas tree in this cozy bedroom
twinkled all night!
Paula made a delicious chicken chili and corn bread for dinner...
I gave this wonderful wire piece that I found at Anthro
a few years ago...to Paula as a gift.
I still love it
...and am glad that I bought one for myself at the same time!
Do you ever do that?
"One as a gift for a dear friend...
...and one for me!!!"
...Evi's creation.
We missed having her with us this time!
another of Evi's wonderful dolls...
I think that this Santa was created by our friend Ginny.

There's lots more to show you at Paula's home...
...but tomorrow we will take a break and
I will show you some pics from our visit to
Carole's Christmas shop at Maynard Greenhouse.
Are you beginning to catch the Christmas spirit?
:)
I don't know who Paula is, and her house is nothing like mine (traditional), but I want to go there! She should make it a bed and breakfast! ;o) Looks so cozy and reminds me of my grandfather's house. Especially the little white tree with silver (bells?).

ReplyDeleteoh laura!!!i am sooo happy to have glimpses into Paula's magical home once again this year (i have your post from last years tour in my faves! or was it the year before? and i remember the socks on the legs of the coffee table) i just love everything about her style and especially the fact that she is a collector of one of a kind and hand made treasures! and all the lucious wire pieces give her rooms such an airy feel....and her attention to detail is incredible! why, oh why doesn't she have a blog so we can see more and get to "know" her better?? just when i thought i was done with my own decorating, i now am inspired to do more! thanks for sharing this adorable home with us and i can not wait to see Caroles next!

But, I didn't know it was Paula....the days before blogs etc....anyway, I saved that issue, along with many others, because I loved her home and style. And when I found your blog, saved that too because I LOVE it....and....low and behold the lady with the wonderful house from Country Living is your friend!!!! And she gets better and better!!! So glad I found you and her!!! Whew!!!!! Thanks so much for sharing!!!!!!! Linda Evans

What a fantastic Christmas home! I wonder how long it takes Paula to decorate all that! It is like living in a museum house or something! Lovely! Are visitors accepted? I have a friend in Connecticut. She said she knows Carole's shop it is very near her home. AriadnefromGreece!

ReplyDeleteHello dearest Laura,
ReplyDeleteI see you are still surrounded by beautiful things as usual. I'd love to come and spend Christmas with such a beautiful theme around me. And yes - I often make or buy the same gift for myself as I give to a girlfriend. More often than not - I make it for myself then give it away. I never regret it though :) xxx
So very beautiful, all of it...I love strolling through it left me feeling warm and cozy...thank you for the lovely photos....hugs Janice
ReplyDeleteAmazing!!!!
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy reading your blog and seeing your gorgeous photographs. But, today's post of your friend Paula's beautiful Connecticut home has left me breathless. I lived in a 1740 gambrel colonial in CT for over 30 years before I retired and relocated to Maryland. Although I am enjoying decorating my new home in a coastal style, my first love will always be New England Primitives. This surely made me homesick! Thank you for sharing all of your beautiful thoughts and pictures with us here in blog-land.

A Christmas feast for the eyes and more. WLucky girl to stay in such a home at Christmas time. I love the expression on the mouse's face, He is content too.
ReplyDeleteLaura, Paula says I should not be a stalker and leave a comment. OK I am Paula's older sister, Carol. I work nights at Albany Medical center and have used your blog as entertainment while at work. Thanks! I also love to create and decorate with old things, but they turn out to be very different from my dear sister's.
ReplyDeleteYours has got to be my favourite Christmas home tours that I have yet to see online. SO many beautiful touches and vignettes. Simply magnifique!
