Where Did I Get This From?


I found this stuck in an old basket here at the lake house.


This too.
Same basket.


Can't remember where it came from or when I acquired it.
Probably a yard sale up here....
...sometime in the last 20 years.
(I guess that doesn't narrow it down too much).


I am pretty sure they were used by a bee keeper.
The hat will come in handy to keep the mosquitoes at bay.
Did anyone notice the French writing?
So chic!

Sister Lynn is back in Chicago (boo hoo)...
...she left me these sweet porcelain numbers
 to remind me how much I miss her!

Mr. Flea and my Dad have been helping in all sorts of ways and I am so grateful for their support and tolerance.

    One of my most favorite books is "keeper of the bees" by Gene Stratton-Porter :)
    ~ and I have always wanted a field of lavender so i may have a few bee hives to harvest lavender honey!!

    Hahahaha! My dd, 10yo, was a beekeeper last Halloween and I had such fun putting together her costume! This brings back fond memories...what a cool find!

    At times, it must seem like Christmas for you, Laura - opening all those boxes and baskets and rediscovering old treasures. I thought I had a lot of stuff stowed away - in barns and outbuildings - until I met you. lol

    Hey Laura....I sure wish I could find a basket like that at my house! I love 'bee' stuff and collected it for years. I have a dream of becoming a 'beekeeper' someday. Oh well, a girl can dream.

    Laura - the beekeepers hat is fabulous -what a find (both times - LOL!!) My husband used to be a bee keeper - we have friends that do - its a wonderful hobby. I know you will find something fresh and decorative to do with that hat!
