My sister Lynn and I were welcomed with opened arms into the beautiful home of Shelley and her handsome Mr. Sweet Pea.
Shelley also surprised me by inviting the lovely
Susie from the blog...My Home to Yours.
Don't you just love this architectural piece seen from the front door highlighting the entrance to the living room?
I took many pictures and will show them to you over the next day or so... but to see the wonderful pictures that Shelley took herself... be sure to visit Jennifer at The Old Painted Cottage as her gorgeous home was featured in The Cottage of the Month.
And to see the professional photos taken by Kimberly McCole of
Dear Daisy Cottage, which were featured in the Italian magazine L'Idea Shabby Chic
This is the lovely dining room where we were served a delicious homemade soup, salad and a crusty garlic bread.
For closeups of this lovely table setting and our charming personalized favors and place cards click here to see Shelley's post.
The conversation flowed as we had so much to share and so much in common. These new friends are so genuine, warm and gracious.
Shelley's home is filled with really great cupboards, architectural pieces and painted furniture as well as her wonderful collections.
I tried to focus on some of the details of her creative and imaginative vignettes.
I left her a little message on her chalkboard wall in the kitchen which is really fun and looks amazing up close and personal!
This attractive arrangement sits on the top of her refrigerator.
I love this kitchen!
I also love her studio...
...filled with evidence of Shelley's creativity!
Her inspiration board.
Stacks of gorgeous grain sacks in an old wooden crate
under a dresser.
Beautiful linens and pillows in her romantic master bedroom.
Love the chocolate walls and the crisp white trim.
Don't you just love this shower curtain from Anthropologie?
This gorgeous antique mourning picture is one of Shelley's favorites.
Really fun and interesting collections...
always displayed so beautifully.
Shelley has mastered the art of editing in her decorating and each vignette really stands on its own and becomes a work of art.
The guest room.
Stacks of gorgeous antique monogrammed linens.
Much more to come!
Isn't it all simply amazing?
The personal tour of her home was wonderful...
...but getting to know Shelley and her husband and Susie was the real gift of this wonderful afternoon.
Tomorrow I will share some more pictures of Sweet Pea Home and
also a few of Susie's charming home too!
Thank you for all the happy anniversary good wishes!
I read each of them to Mr. Flea and we are overwhelmed
with your kindness. We celebrated tonight with Lynn and our parents at a favorite Italian restaurant.
I am feeling a bit spoiled as yesterday and today have been really fun days for me and I hope they have been good for you too!
:)
Charming. Charming. Charming. Charming. Really. I have not seen anything quite as charming. One beautiful room after another. Vignettes to die for. That is unreal, Laura, and there is more? I can't wait to see. How much better can it get?

ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, Laura! No wonder you came home feeling hugged and inspired both. All of the neutral shades just make everything stand out so warmly and beautifully. What creative ideas here! Especially love the niche in the bathroom wall. I'm thinking...teacups in my hall? If it's deep enough!
