Fleamarket Finds
Would you like to peek inside my window and see what treasures I found while at the flea market and antiquing this weekend?
Well, come on in!
I actually found the window!
I first saw the other side, the pretty blue green side of this pair of windowpanes leaning against the wall.
I walked over to examine them closer and that is when I saw the shabby pink paint on the backside or inside of the frames...
Sigh...love at first sight!
Next, I found this wonderful old chicken crate.
I have a few ideas for this...what would you do with it?
Isn't this a great tote with the old swing iron handle?
It looks good this way...
...or this way!
...a small child's Hoosier type cabinet...
...missing one door but with a shelf that pulls out...
...and a little oak dresser with wonderful pull knobs...
...a mother of pearl manicure set in a velvet box and a darling white on white handkerchief with birds...
...a few advertising pieces...
...some more skeleton keys...
...a few old games...
...a St. Bernard puppy postcard in a little old frame...
...an old chocolate mold ...
...sardines?
...various and sundry kitchen items...
...old heavy metal jello molds (not aluminum) ...
...love the pewter look to them...
...a pretty blue enamel pie plate from Austria...
...a child's set of miniature bowling pins with two red wooden balls.
...two old pillow cases that were not in good shape but had an edging of wonderful crochet work in the shape of bells.
...a pretty lace hankie and an interesting, old, silver colored, metal medallion and chain.
That's all I have time for tonight!
More to come this week...
Still hoping to get to Madison Bouckville at least one day!
The weather for the week is supposed to be perfect....
high of 78 degrees and low of 48 degrees...
... and that's why I need a sweatshirt for the early morning!
By 10 am I will be in a T shirt!
I just love this mountain air!
:)

ReplyDeleteI posted about my finds yesterday after my visit to the flea market at Candlestick Park in San Francisco. My items are of a much smaller scale. The "hunt" is soooo much fun! ;)

Love your finds and your blog! I use a chicken crate as a coffee table. I put an old hooked rug in the bottom for color. Because there is a 'door' on top, you can easily change displays in the crate for holidays, etc.
ReplyDeleteNancyO.
Love all your great finds.I just love the windows...Kathy
ReplyDeleteAhhhh beautiful purchases! Love the windows, the crate with the handle and the chicken crate! I don't know what I would use the chicken crate for but I WOULD find a use:) The keys, the pillow cases... all beautiful!

ReplyDeleteOh, man that's a great lot of goodies! I can't believe you found that many skeleton keys in one place. I just did a post yesterday that showed my lifetime collection. All 6 of them. I NEVER see them around here. And you'd think I would.
ReplyDeleteSuch exquisite treasures! You must have taken a wheelbarrow! Everything is so delicate... But I would use the old chocolate moulds with tinted pastel plaster (or "ceramofix") to create sweet little fishes... Blue or white form my deco, of course!
ReplyDeleteI just discovered your exquisite blog, and I do love its "colors of time"...
Joyeuse journée!
Great finds, Laura. My favorite = the chippy windows. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteOMG I love everything you found!!!! Just great. I am going to Bouckville too. We went for the first time last year and really had a great time. I am sure we will find some great treasures there too:) Have fun!

hi laura! i have seen a friend display the chicken coop on its side with a skinny board inserted through it to form a shelf resting on the rungs and then leave the door open. she puts a little lamp inside with a waxy bulb to highlight all the goodies she displays inside then hangs it on a wall or puts it up on a cupboard or in a nook up high. looks awesome.
ReplyDeleteLove the postcard and your blog!
ReplyDeleteSearched for pigeon crate and found you! What a wonderful accident, you love everything I do, keep up the good work.
