Gather in Ivoryton, CT
Whenever I visit my good friend Paula in Connecticut, I love to stop in and see our friend Deanna at Gather, her charming shop in Ivoryton.
I have posted about it before but couldn't resist taking a few more pictures to share.
It is the kind of shop that is visited daily by the neighborhood kids who stop in for soda pop and candy....
...Yet, you can always find a lovely and unique gift here...no matter who you are shopping for.
Folks are always bringing in things to sell on consignment....
...you just never know what you will find!
Deanna, her family members and staff are all so welcoming and friendly...
If you are anywhere near the area this summer, be sure to include a stop at Gather!
I just wanted to say how much I appreciate the fact that you stop by and often leave a comment to let me know you were here. Please know that even if you don't hear back from me, I am grateful for your visit and your kind words.
Our family has several wonderful milestones and celebrations this spring...
...we are so proud of our son Dan who will be graduating from Buffalo Law School this Saturday and two of our nephews, Joseph and James are celebrating graduations too.
But, like every family, there are also concerns and recently we have become aware of a serious health concern for my lovely mother. I would be most grateful if you would keep her in your prayers.
Have a good night and a great day tomorrow....the weekend is almost here!
:)
What a wonderful trip you had! Did you find any goodies to bring to Silver Bella? Remember, I am saving a seat for you in the Project Runway Class!!
ReplyDeleteWell Laura...as usual I want everything in every picture that you posted tonight!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to your son for graduating Law School and please know that your Mother will be in our daily prayers.
Blesings,
Nancy
I'm sorry to hear your Mother is ill and send along a prayer.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your son's graduation you must all be so proud.
Dear Laura, Your mother will most definitely be in my prayers, as will you and your family.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to your son, Dan, for his accomplishment. You must be very proud!
Annette
Don't you just love these types of shops scattered about in the quaint little villages and townships? I do...and alas, they are few and far in Southern California :-(
ReplyDeleteAnd CONGRATS to all in your family who are meeting milestones in their lives.
Finally...yes, it is sad to see our parents suffer and become more dependent on their children. But we are fortunate that we can be there for them as they were there for us.
Have a lovely week and weekend!
Wishing you and your family the very best during the joyous occasions and prayers for your mother. I always love to stop in and check out what is nw with you! Sweet dreams Laura.

Dear Laura,
ReplyDeleteFirst let me say how much I enjoy your blog, it has fast become one of my very favorites. I recently started a blog and have been stopping by for inspiration, though this is the first time I've left a comment. Today, I knew I had to change that.
I was undergoing some rather unpleasant medical tests today and fishing around for something to hold in my mind. Suddenly, your recent posts about your friends Paula and Evi popped into my thoughts and I dwelled in their gardens and in Evi's studio for a few moments. Before I knew it the tests were over.
So thank you so much for your beautiful posts and the "Sanctuary" you unknowingly provided for me today. I hope you will also express my deep appreciation to Paula and Evi for creating such beauty and allowing you to share it with the rest of us.
I will keep your mother in my prayers.
Susan

ReplyDeleteCongrats on Dan's graduation from Law School - no small feat and I will lift your mom up in prayer.
Dear Laura
ReplyDeleteFirstly congratulation to Dan and the others .. wonderful achievement.. and so sorry to hear your mum is having health concerns.. I will certainly keep her in my thoughts!!!
Well you know how much I love seeing photos from Deanna's shop... I do think I will have to get myself over there one day.. I suspect I will have to cruise over as the luggage restriction by flight would just not cope with the treasure I will take home..
Have a lovely day Laura.. thinking of you and your mum xxx Julie

ReplyDeleteOh Laura,
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to hear that your Mother is not so well. I am sending positive thoughts to her from the U.K.
I, too LOVE your friend, Deanna's shop. I want to go there for real. Could you possibly buy that shutter that is propped up outside the front of her shop ? I've been looking for one like that for ages but, I can't seem to find one here !!!! If only Gather was the little shop around the corner !! I don't suppose it's worth shipping it to the U.K.
Many congrats to your Dan. You will be so proud on Saturday. I know that we were when our Dan got his degree.
I will be thinking of you Laura, as I know what a difficult time it is when a parent is unwell. Be positive, Laura and take care of yourselves too. XXXX
