Beautiful Weekend at Brimfield
It couldn't have been a prettier weekend at the Brimfield markets...
...although the wind on Saturday morning threatened many tents and display stands...
...by the afternoon, all was calm.
It was the perfect temperature for treasure hunting...not too hot and not too cold!
Paula and I had a relaxing time...leisurely poking around the 4 fields we visited on Saturday.
For those of you who have never been to Brimfield....there are over 5,000 dealers in 21 different shows...or fields.
The shows begin on Tuesday and continue through Sunday.
It can be overwhelming at times and it is impossible to see it all...
...but we have our routine down and enjoyed every minute of our treasure hunt!
This show has something for everyone.
I took a few pictures of the booths we seemed to spend a lot of time at...
I will show you some of the things that came home with me tomorrow...
For those of you who are curious about Mr. Flea's reaction to the petticoat chandelier...
...well, you predicted it!
He wasn't amused...
The fire inspector (a.k.a. Mr. Flea) laid down the law....
The only place that petticoat is allowed ... is on me!
I hope you had a fun filled and relaxing weekend!
My wonderful Dad is having a birthday Monday so Happy Birthday Daddy!
We love you!
Oh I am so jealous! I didn't get to go to Brimfield as planned. You were so lucky to have good weather!

ReplyDeleteSo sorry we missed each other! But if you came to my field on Saturday we were already gone! We pretty much sold down to the bare walls, so we packed what was left on Friday night and pulled out Saturday morning! We will be back in July!

Laura -
ReplyDeleteI made it to Brimfield on Sunday. While I heard that many dealers were gone, it was perfect for me - got there at 6:00 am and left by 1:00 (as the crowds were building). Beautiful day and what wonderful treasures!
The grain sack fabric that you took a picture of (hmm...chair cushion or pillow?), a handmade ladder, a chandelier with HUGE complete crystals, a sepia photo in a big chippy frame, a new handmade leather purse (with a huge leather flower), a framed mirror, old paperweights, vintage spools and trims, a set of croquet mallets, a basket lined with vintage fabric (SO CUTE!), an old army cot (which I will pile with cushions on my patio), a chenille bedspread and pillow, old medicine labels from Brussels (where I lived for 4 years), a vintage hat, a large set of old wooden children's blocks.
QUITE A HAUL! I don't mean to go on but you can tell how excited I am!
Hope to see you at another Brimfield or maybe ET!
Suzanne
Hi Suzanne...
ReplyDeleteWow! You really did score big time! No wonder you are so excited! We took it easy this time and although in years past we have filled up my van with fabulous architectural pieces....this year we seemed to only buy smalls. We did have a lot of fun though and like Sunday..the weather was perfect when we were there Saturday. Thanks for sharing all your treasures with us!
Wonderful...waited with bated breath to see what you saw! Must be overwhelmingly tempting to "see it all". Can't wait to see more! XO Trish
ReplyDeleteoh, i would love to get to the Brimfield show one day...thanks for sharing your photos...it looks amazing!!!
ReplyDeleteMaybe a good thing I have not been to Brimfield. I might need to mortgage something!
ReplyDeleteOh my, this place is amazing. Thanks for sharing all your wonderful photos. I am smiling about Mr. Flea, I never thought of the fire code.
