52 Flea Finds!
It was dark when I left the house this morning and just a sliver of moon was shining in the sky....
...but almost an hour later as I was getting close to the market the sun rose up like a big fiery red ball from behind the mountains...
I knew it would be a beautiful morning at the flea market!
I met Deanna, my friend from Gather in Ivoryton, CT and she had something special for me...
This is an old lab table from Yale....the apron on the other side has a 51 stenciled on it.
...apparently it was shared by two university students...
This is a shot of the top of the table...it has a burn mark...actually a hole in it and the black paint on top seems to be coated with a layer of wax...
...it appears to have gotten a lot of use.
Mr. Flea wants to know what I am going to use it for now.
I have no idea!
...a few other finds I picked up this morning...that is a compact in the front and the birds are salt and pepper shakers...
...an old Eastman pen holder...
... a stylish vintage feather hat and an old hotel key...
... some old laundry pins and a brass needle case...
...a wonderful old receipt book with a marbled paper cover...
...it dates from 1872...
...an instruction manual and music for an Estey Organ...
These are interesting and something I haven't seen before.
They are old zinc and brass templates from a photographer's studio.
...used for portraits...
...lots of vintage lace...
...the sweetest wedding cake topper...
...and a winsome and charming wedding veil and wreath...
...with delicate wax flowers...
I will show more pictures from this weekend's adventures later on in the week...
... found some lovely linens and other treasures that you will enjoy...
Just a few more posts and 52 Flea will hit the 400 posts mark...
Still trying to figure out what to Give - Back this time...
... to one of my blog friends...one lucky winner...
Should it be the new edition of Jeanne D'Arc Living?
Maybe some old lace?
Maybe something special from the French brocante?
Any suggestions? What would you like to win?
I will be posting the details soon!
Hope your weekend was full of fun and that the week ahead brings all good things!
:)
