Spring Activities
Playing with a few Easter decorations...
I bought this pretty table runner last year at a close out sale...
The little bunny is an old tea drip catcher sitting on a cushion made from antique fabrics...by Kim Stout of Thistle Hill.
The heart was made using antique fabrics by my mother in law.
A few of my old chocolate molds.
...very pale blue eggs...
Spring is finally here!
There is lots to celebrate...
...and lots to be grateful for!
Tomorrow I am beginning the big clean out...
I will be going through boxes and closets and sorting and organizing.
Things will go to the thrift store... in the "to be sold pile" and in the trash!
This long overdue "spring cleaning" will continue for many weeks to come....
As a life long collector and having lived in the same home for over 36 years...
well, to be honest...I don't know what I have!
Stay tuned as I am sure to uncover some long forgotten treasures...
I will report my progress and my finds and may need some decision making help!
Do I keep? throw out? sell? donate?
It is overwhelming...daunting in fact...
...but I am resolved to get it done!
Are you with me?
:)
I too have begun my spring cleaning! It feel so good to clean and let go of things. I can't wait to join in your fun and see what treasures you find and what stay and what goes! ~Lulu
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the cleaning. It will be interesting to see what you uncover that you have forgotten about.

ReplyDeleteHi, love your post, everything is so beautiful. Boy we lived in one house for over 20 years, my husband got a dumpster, we had a garage sale and took what did not sell to goodwill. It was so much work, you have your work cut out for you. Good Luck. Terri
ReplyDeleteI'm spring cleaning closet of all those wonderful small sizes which used to fit the younger version of me. I just have to let go...! Letting go is hard to do...sounds like a song.
ReplyDeleteLovely!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter!
Hugs, Lisa
oh my, that would be hard to help you decide what to keep. i have a hard enough time what i should throw. good luck and we will halp if we can. Bestest,Denise
ReplyDeleteI'm inspired by you to try to do the same. Its too long in coming for me. I hope you unearth some lovely memories and show them off. Happy Spring cleaning to you~
ReplyDeleteThose chocolate molds are treasures.
ReplyDeleteA backhoe would need to be bought in around here for a true clean up.
I'm right there with ya! Cleaning out, clearing out, purging big time!
ReplyDeleteAnd it does feel good, I don't want to be one of those senior citizens who has to move out of her home and have people come in and gasp at all my cr##p that I've left behind. So I'm starting while I'm still young-ish, getting rid of stuff that I don't need and haven't used...I mean really, why keep it?
Best of luck and have a lovely Easter holiday.......
Oh, yes! I'll be waiting and watching!
ReplyDeleteLovely Easter items! Just love the runner! I am trying to clean things out, too- just trying to simplify...Have a wonderful Easter!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful things. They make me smile. I need to open boxes and sort so I know what I have. Sigh...such a job.

ReplyDeleteI've already started and working at the task.
Slowly.
But surely.
Can't wait to see what you find!
Ah your Easter treasures are swell! Cannot wait to see what comes out of those boxes, in fact I should do the same over here! I live here for 8 years but 'gathering' things is something beyond control I guess...

I am with you and had started just that but was sidetracked by my husband's accident. I am getting back with it next week:) Have a blessed day and hope you get a lot done!

ReplyDeleteOh, I'm so jealous of your spring cleaning - this is something that I should definitely do, but it won't get done this year :) I'm a collector too (drives my husband crazy because he just doesn't understand). Keep us up-to-date on your progress. We will all be here supporting you and giving you virtual help along the way.
ReplyDeleteLove all of your photos...ofcourse! Cleaning and sorting and organizing always feels so good.when it's done. ;) Sounds like a big job but it might feel a little like shopping in your own home when you come across something you forgot you had! Have A wonderful Easter! Theresa
ReplyDeleteI too will be doing some major cleaning.. But the reason behind mine is that we are going to be moving in a couple of months. So in the process of packing i will sort and chunk some things too.. I hope each of you have a wonderful Easter . Sheila
ReplyDeleteI would love to get some spring cleaning done but it aint gonna happen this year..I just look the other way and plug forward with the mess...I wasn't going to get any bunnies out to decorate with this year, but your white one and that table runner just made my heart go pitty pat! If I had those, I would definitely get bunny crazy! thanks so much for sharing your pictures of them! Press on, sister!

Oh, so many lovely vignettes you've shared. I love my visits to 52 Flea. I need to do a bit of spring cleaning too, but the garden is what is getting the attention for the moment. I'll be eager to see what you find in your clean out. LOL
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter Weekend!
Lots of work but it will be worth it! Can't wait to see what you "find"!
ReplyDeleteJody
Your chocolate molds are stunning. Love them.
ReplyDeleteWishing you a wonderful weekend!
I'm so happy you will document your spring cleaning - it is so inspiring to 'walk' with you!
ReplyDeleteI had decided not to put Easter decorations out to keep life simpler, but your pictures are making me rethink that! So pretty!
ReplyDeleteI love opening boxes and drawers that have been sitting for ever. It's like Christmas. I did it after we retired and moved to a smaller place. Now I find I am creating new boxes and drawers that will sit.....
ReplyDeleteHave fun,
Annette
A nice long sunny weekend w/ the windows open makes the job a little easier! It's my plan too!
ReplyDeleteLove all of your spring decorations. The chocolate molds are something that I would love to collect but never get around to! I love them at Easter and just might try using them to make a chocolate bunny.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait!
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter, I love that patchwork heart it's so so cute!
ReplyDeleteOh Laura I need to do the same thing. I still have things in boxes from moving to the cottage last June and I know I don't have room for everything. I find it hard to part with things but I know it has to be done. Beautiful photo's...love the chocolate molds in fact that reminded me that I have a mold in storage I need to find and bring in! Have a wonderful day and good luck with your spring cleaning!
ReplyDeleteMaura
First of all, your Easter decorations are really pretty!!
ReplyDeleteI wish I could be there to help you clean out, sounds like fun to me.
Can't wait to see what you might unearth!
Good luck!!
Rosemary
Oh Laura I miss you too. I still have a couple of minutes til the library closes.
ReplyDeleteI am so sure you will discover some real treasures. Memories of them will come rushing back. I hope you are enjoying your time at home.
Hope to see you soon!

Love the quote by Channing! That is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI too am cleaning out the warehouse at the studio....don't ya just LOVE it when everything seems to be back in some sort of "order" when you get done? Good luck with it all and can't wait to see what treasures you find lurking in all those places you might have forgotten? :) Have a blessed Easter! xo...deb
ReplyDeleteI need to spring clean too but when spring comes, I have too many irons in the fire! I decided to start spring cleaning all year long. I think it's a good idea to put some of the stuff on your blogspot and see if anyone would like to buy it! You have such cool 'stuff'! It seems there must be a way for all of us junkies (I mean collectors!) to have a "garage sale" blog to visit....somehow....Cindy
ReplyDeletePS - where can I get one of those Sally Jean Charms that says "sometimes she shopped at garage sales."
