Funnels!

I was just sitting here thinking about those funnels at Anthropologie....(see post here)...
...and I saw a glimpse of an article featuring funnels from the new magazine Flea Market Style ...(just found one at the grocery store...will check it out now)...

...and it suddenly occurred to me that I didn't have to take a trip out to the garage or shed or even go down in the basement...

I've got funnels in the kitchen!

....when you have been collecting for as long as I have...
...you sometimes forget what you have stashed!

There is no telling what I will discover when I start to clean out in a few weeks!!
Stay tuned for a funnel project....
Any suggestions?
:)

  1. I have a couple of funnels just like these...they came from our old farmhouse. Right now they are displayed on my gourmet stand in the kitchen...

I'm anxious to see what you have planned for yours.

    Happy Weekend ~Natalie

  2. Well, funnels must be the hottest new collectible if they are featured in the magazine and displayed at Anthropologie. Can't wait to see what you come up with.

  5. What do you NOT have!? (or have only one of...besides your dear husband)? I can see a little hanging mobile overhead...or perhaps succulents or violets within. Happy weekend, Trish

  7. My mom has a collection of the gray ones and wants to get a graduated set and when you stack them thay look like a tree! She has 4 or 5 now and we look everywhere we go. It's fun to have things to look for. I found a great retro pink clock radio last week and I was so excited. You don't see them often so it is hard to remember to look! Have a super great weekend. OH I love the Flea Market Style magazine too!!

I knew that you'd have some to hand. You have EVERYTHING !! I'm sure that you will think of something great to do with them.....the only thing that I can think of is that you could wear then as a Madonna-type, Jean Paul Gautier bra !!!! haha.
Enjoy the weekend, Laura. How's the snow ? XXXX

  11. Just discovered your blog today and there is a big grin on my face - I'm happy with what I see and read. Will definitely sign up to be a loyal follower. I too am a collector of all things and when I discover something I haven't seen in my stash for a long time, it's like a gift has been given to me again. Judy Beatty, Houston, Texas

  14. Great minds think alike! I was in Anthro last month and saw their "funnel flower beddings" and thought...HUmmmm---great display for the Yaya windows in April! Now to just find some of the funnels that are HUGE like theirs were and blend in some small ones. Love it! xo...deb

  16. Anthropologie is such a great source for inspiration!!!Punching holes on either side of the funnel and wire or ribbon for hanging on doorknob or back of chair would make a pretty vessel for flowers! Plumbers putty is great for plugging holes to hold water. So many possibilities.....

  19. Nice collection you have! We have a few and they get used for various things from a bouquet of flowers to little decorations like houseing a little spring birds nest with those little eggs in it. My favorite is the one in the garage. We threw a ball of twine it fed the end to hang out the bottom. Now when newspapers get wrapped up for recycling the twine doesn't roll all around the floor. I'm on the hunt for some more for another idea I have.

  20. It is always so great to see all the treasurers you have. I often wonder how much STORAGE SPACE you must have to be able to stash all this stuff??

Good for you that you have saved them all these years.

    Blessings,

    Jo

  25. Use the funnels upside down for:

    1. Birdhouse roofs
    2. Feeding string, yarn, etc. out of some sort
of container that would store the string,
yarn, etc. May be a little funky but could
    work.
    3. Doll dress (just add a head, etc.)

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with

    God Bless

  26. Oh I also saw these on another blog. Upside down with a candle in it.....I love it......
What are you going to do with them.....?
    Nice day

  27. I found a large funnel last year at a antique store and used it for the top of my tin man that stands in my garden. I think plants would look great in them.

  28. I know what you mean about not knowing what you've got. My problem is I remember buying it - but can't remember where I put it. I have so many drawers in my workroom and it's very frustrating looking through them all - and I invariably then get completely side-tracked with other bits that I DO find!!

  29. Laura, I am sure you will think of something really neat, I just reread your pretty article in Somerset, so lovely!! I think they would look good with brown or cream parchment paper and lavender or dried roses with ties of muslin and an old key.......
I found this book on an Etsy account, you need to see it, it has your name on it!!!
