We have all heard the expression..."the calm before the storm"...
I seem to be experiencing "the storm before the calm" these last few weeks of life in the corporate world...
Many loose ends to tie up...
Preparing to say goodbye to longtime coworkers and friends...
...trying to help each one land in a soft place...
...cleaning out files...preparing the way for the new...
...trying to facilitate a smooth transition for all...
...
Change is good...
but not always easy.
Playing with icy wintry images tonight....relaxing...
Hope you all have a good night's sleep...
:) Laura
So sorry your having a rough time during this transition. I'm sure it is a very difficult time for you. But I bet you can't wait for those days of no alarm clocks, pajamas all day, playing around with this and that, tinkering with crafts.......Thinking of you as you go through your "storm"
ReplyDeleteAaargh! I'm sure it just can't finish up soon enough! These images are beautiful. Keep up the good work (the fun stuff, that is). ~ Angela
ReplyDeleteKeeping you in my thoughts, Laura.
ReplyDeleteChange after a long time experience is hard, but once you get through this phase, it will be blue skies and the promise of your dream. Look to the future and all that lies before you with anticipation and joy. Peace & blessings, Tammy

ReplyDeleteHi Dear Laura
ReplyDeleteWell as a contractor I move on every couple of years and it is always exhausting at the end trying to tidy up the loose ends as you say... I'm sure after all your years there they will miss you terribly. Take it easy.. and keep warm.. xx JUlie
Hi Laura,
ReplyDeleteYour co-workers are so blessed that you have concerns to make the transition for them easy. Soon you will reap your rewards...sweet days of relaxation, creative inspirations and enjoyment on a new level for your home. Good luck in these next few weeks

ReplyDeleteIt is always darkest just before the dawn!
ReplyDeleteBest wishes,
Rhonda
I remember those days at the end:) It is sweet to see the future and sad to leave your friends. You will be just fine and I know once you get past these days... oh sweet retirement:) Have a blessed day dear Laura!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the transition. Your co-workers and company are lucky to have someone as dedicated as yourself to see the job through until the end.
ReplyDeleteI have been in the corporate world for 28 years now....in the same industry I started in. Was the young rep when I started and now I'm the "old" rep wearing my reading glasses and wearing flats!! I'm looking forward to the day when I hang up my briefcase.

Don't forget to breathe dear Laura. Change is most certainly not always easy - such is the nature of change! But you will feel so much better having done it so well. I know ice blue and a few deep, calming breaths help centre me too when a storm is underway ;-) Sending you prayers.
ReplyDeleteAnd your first image I love for the old wood and the ice blue. The second is beautiful of the blessed virgin Mary...
Love your blog....one I go to every time....
ReplyDeleteYour lovely images do evoke peace and serenity. May you be blessed with both during this difficult transition time, Laura.
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I have weathered many storms, and given the perspective of time, many turned out to be blessings. May the thought of your new life ahead fill you with hope.- Mary
Change can be thrilling and terrifying at the same time. And exhausting!
ReplyDeleteI know that you will sail through this passage with your customary grace and style. :-)
Thank you so much for your kind words of encouragement on my blog! Yep, we learn to be craftier *together*!
Have a wonderful weekend!
Anne
