Two weeks ago, on my birthday, my mother in law gave me this antique child's pressed glass punch bowl with 6 matching cups on a little silver tray...
She had inherited it from Mary, an elderly cousin who had received it as a Christmas present when she was a young child.
That means this darling little set is over 100 years old.

Was this not the sweetest, dearest birthday gift ever?
I can only imagine how delighted Mary and her sister were when they received it on Christmas morning more than one hundred years ago!

I often wonder with pieces like that - for what occasions the owners may have used it and with what loving care they would have taken of it after each use... It is very fitting that such a treasure should go to you...
