Black Hats and Hearts

Just a quick post tonight to participate in tomorrow's Vintage Black Friday...
Since everyone enjoyed the cream silk Victorian hat...I thought that perhaps you would enjoy seeing a few of my vintage black straw hats...

The child's hat with the flowers and velvet ribbon is particularly charming...

This random picture is a closeup of a bowl full of vintage letters from a flea market this fall.

And a closeup of an old iron mat that Rob and I bought while traveling about in Pennsylvania a few years ago. It hangs on the bedroom wall at the lake house and I use it as a magnetic/inspiration board. I love the hearts.
To see other participants in Vintage Black Friday visit Jill at Gypsy Brocante.

I am excited to be going to Wilton, CT on Saturday to see Evi who will be participating in the Fine American Craftsman Show sponsored by the Wilton Historical Society. I am hoping to be able to take some pictures of her beautiful booth and amazing creations as well as the work of some of the other wonderful artists.
All I can say about this week at work is thank goodness it's almost Friday!
:) Laura

  11. Dearest Laura, I LOVE your magnetic/inspiration board full of hearts! I've never seen such a beautiful kind of "pin-board / reminder"! And your hats are sooo good-looking! Do you wear them (of course you will not wear the child's hat, but may be the others...) or are they just decoration?
Have a wonderful & relaxing & inspiring weekend, HUGS, Traude

I was just visiting Julie over at Ruby Tuesday, and wanted to say "Congratualtions!" to you for winning one of Cathy Penton's charms. Talk about a lucky Friday the 13th!!!
