Disturbing Collages for the Season
Antique Victorian hand and an old glass door knob
Continuing to frighten myself by creating spooky vignettes with flea market finds and bits and pieces of my oddball collections......
The inside of a Victorian era velvet hat, old silver-plate pieces and the top of an old fabric covered tea caddy
An interesting antique glass bottle with remnants of....embalming fluid...
(who would buy such a thing?)....click on image to enlarge and read the writing...
... and several scary titled black books from my scary titles collection.
White Cotton crocheted gloves....
...with a heart sewn from antique quilt pieces and a white tin heart on an old book cover
Won't it be lovely when Halloween is over?

Hi Laura,
ReplyDeleteI love this post. I'm not a fraidy cat (at least not yet). I'd have purchased that vintage bottle with embalming fluid. I love curious goods. Very fun post - thank you!

You're beginning to worry me now, Laura !!!! Hehe.
ReplyDeleteYou have put these togeher beautifully. I think that it's the embalming fluid that is the most 'disturbing'.I wonder if each measure is per body or per body part ??!!!!
Your Halloween images are the most 'eerie' in blogland, Laura.!!!! XXXX

ReplyDeleteFor one who doesn't care for Halloween, you're doing a very nice job of creating spookiness. The gloves really look creepy!
ReplyDeleteThe lace gloves are fun and creepy. Scary collage combinations!
ReplyDeleteThe inside of the velvet hat is beautiful, and the crocheted gloves are amazing!! They are so frightful and gorgeous in an ethereal way -- they look a bit like skeletal branches - I can't take my eyes off of them.

ReplyDeleteI have never seen these type of door handles before. They are absoutely killer! Would you want to sell them??? Oh the Victorians knew how to do it right. I'd love one for my new door. Love this post, thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThe "skeletal" crocheted gloves are GHASTLY! I LOVE them!
