Autumn
When the trees their summer splendor
Change to raiment red and gold,
When the summer moon turns mellow,
And the nights are getting cold;
When the squirrels hide their acorns,
And the woodchucks disappear;
Then we know that it is autumn,
Loveliest season of the year.
I am enjoying the season...wearing my sweaters and cowboy boots again...loving the last of the flea markets in the cooler air...
...feeling joyful and playful and I hope you are too!
:) Laura
Now those will make you say ahhhhh...
ReplyDeleteWell, I must say....down here on the bayou, we do wear our cowboy boots all year long, but sweaters???? Maybe in early November! ;)

I know what you mean...I love the Fall...all cozy and warm...comfort of the sweaters is pure joy! I enjoy the summer and spring months...but love fall (not so much winter though)! Tami E.
ReplyDeleteYes, yes, yes,
ReplyDeleteGoing to Old Navy tomorrow to buy one of their orange cardigan belted sweaters ($20, shhh!)
I absolutely love this time of year, it's my favorite!
Oooh Laura, I LOVE this post as Autumn is my very favorite time of all! And I LOVE that little squirrel, where did you get him? I want one! Squirrels are my favorite, I take photos of the ones by us every day on our Nature walk... Happy Autumn to you! Bisous... Julie Marie
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely story. The pictures tell it all. Some great displays of the season. Don't you just love gathering up all these goodies like the squirrels.
ReplyDeleteBoots and sweaters? Let's see again, where are you?....not in Florida, that's for sure! It's still 92 degrees...ugh! Great post...love the squirrel, he's cute, and quite the story teller...Send a little cool weather my way, okay?

Awww, what a cute little squirrel! It's actually starting to feel like Fall down here in Texas, still waiting for the oranges and golds, though.
ReplyDeleteGreat pics!
Anne
Love the squirrel! Does feel good to cozy up in a sweater/sweatshirt, doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteKarla & Karrie
Wonderful photoes... I love the autumn...but not when it`s raining every day for 3 months....
ReplyDeleteI need some sunny days.... O=)
Take care...
Hugs Kerstin
Laura...your photographs are stunning. That peach and the russety red of the leaves...beautiful. We have squirrels in the garden all the time...I think that my husband spends more money on food for the wildlife in the garden that I do on our own food !!!! Unfortunately , we don't have red squrrels much, just the little grey fellows. I love all of the seasons as they all have their own merits, but Autumn brings back fond memories of my son's wedding, last October.Gorgeous post, as usual, Laura. XXXX
ReplyDeleteWhat a beutiful post! Like your southern friends, we're not really having autumn temperatures here, and the idea of sweaters is really uncomfortable...
ReplyDeleteHowever, we are seeing the berries, nuts, coloured leaves and cooler mornings that signal the change of season, and I have the 'ramoneur' (chimney sweep) coming on Friday morning, just to be prepared!
yeah fall is here, the best time of the year!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures..I think I must get out and find some white pumpkins...your fall enthusiasm is a little bit contagious! I needed that!
ReplyDeleteI love autumn too - just have to get through the rest of spring then a long hot summer and I'll be there! Leigh
ReplyDeleteI love the Autumn post...I am really getting in the mood. Thanks for the lovely pictures.
ReplyDeleteHaving fun this morning discovering a whole new world of junkers. Got to run to band practice and hopefully some junking and will come back for more later.
ReplyDeleteWOO-HOO!!! ;-)
Such a nice story-telling post again! Of course I love autumn ;-)
ReplyDeleteHugs, Traude
Lovely post, Laura. Have a smile on my face...great start to the day. Thanks, Trish
ReplyDeleteLove the colors of your photographs and the "My Symphony" poem. Very creative. Reading through your posts I found Lucca Italy. What a wonderful post and description of your experience. I love Italy, and although Santa Barbara (my home) is pretty fabulous, that part of Italy is incredibly lovely...as are the inhabitants. Thank YOU!
ReplyDeleteHey that little squirrel would have looked great with the koala bear I saw in Brimfield. Darn!
ReplyDeleteAlso didn't I hear you say you don't like "Orange"? I'm not as much of an orange fan either but this time of year it's the perfect color!
xo...C
What an adorable little squirrel!
