"Be impeccable with your word.
Speak with integrity.
Say only what you mean.
Avoid using the word to speak against yourself, or to gossip about others.
Use the power of your word in the direction of truth and love."
Don Miguel Ruiz
My mother was so wise when she told us to always be kind.
What a loving and wise Mother you had. Our Mother's words influence us so much. Kindness goes a long ways and it means so much to the giver and receiver. Have a nice week. Sandi
ReplyDeleteLovely post! And it is so true. Always be kind. I know how much it means to me when I receive such kindness and I am glad when I can also be that for others. Thank you for sharing, and as always your photos are lovely!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful words... we should all be kinder than necessary, you never know what the other person is might be battling in their life...

I think a lot of the time that people do not realize just how powerful their words can be.
ReplyDeleteI have felt the power of words so much these days and agree with you and your mother! However, I must say that your photos are excellent too!
ReplyDeleteMothers always seemed to know the right words to say...
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you and your mother! My mother said the same and she always taught me: Always tell the truth, but the truth doesn't have to be told always. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHow true and how I wish I could remember that and not speak without first thinking! Some people never learn I guess! Lovely pictures too which exactly match the wise words. Love it.

What a wonderful mam you have.......
ReplyDeleteAnd so true......what you give is mostly what you get back.......
And you make the world a little better.
You are such a nice spirit.
Thanks and a fine day
A philosophy that I try to live by...not always successfully but mostly .....I don't think any of us are perfect all of the time, but I try my best.
ReplyDeleteIf only everybody in the world would practice this philosophy, most of the time XXXX
Wonderful pictures and words!
ReplyDeleteI like your beautiful and inspiring blog!
Greetings from Switzerland, Doris
Your mother was right...kindness is free and we always appreciate kind people! It's a pity that sometimes we forget to be the same with others!
ReplyDeleteNice post Laura!
Happy new day!

So true. The power of life and death are in the tongue. Beautiful post.
ReplyDeleteHi Laura
ReplyDeleteYOu know I have had a couple of very recent experiences where I have had to choose whether to 'speak up' or stay silent. I decided to speak up in praise of someone. Just like you I found out later it had been 'just at the right moment'. I think the lesson for me is that you may not always get any feedback, but it doesn't mean there hasn't been an impact somewhere! I agree.. be kind! We need it! haha

So, so true, Laura.

Lovely, truly lovely post. Words can hurt or heal. It takes so little of us to say a kind word to anyone, anywhere. Peace and a gentle day to all who stop by today. Sea Witch

I have read a few of Ruiz's books and truly enjoy his sage advice. These words are no exception, and I love the photos accompaning them :)
ReplyDeleteSuch wonderful sentiment & I couldn't agree more. Kindness makes everything better. I smile all day at strangers & rarely is it not returned or start conversation.
