More Details ... Madison Bouckville



First I have to put the call out there for help! I have used all my photo storage space on blogger!
I wanted to lead this post off with some more pretty pics of the countryside but I ran out of space.....just dashed off to purchase more but will not have it available for 24 hours so I will have to wait until then.....
Hence, directly to the booty!...
Yes, this posh pink payphone was, indeed, for sale!



This shabby old door (shutter size) became mine for a very reasonable price!



Such cool shoes on this table in a booth full of feminine, romantic objects...



This was labeled "sold"!



Carole found this sweet little sewing table for Deanna.....the price was fabulous!



I loved these matching iron towers....sadly the price was way over my budget....(the girls would probably say now..."right, it was over a dollar")....



We found an amazing stash of old letters....early1800's.....all from the same family home...
Paula and I took home a few and will color copy them and share for art projects, etc.



Last will and testaments, indentured servant papers, deeds, etc...Aren't they wonderful?



I loved these old cookbooks in sepia tones and was so happy to be able to add them to my collection....



More ephemera for art projects ....



Two darling little books....



We were delighted with a dealer who was selling all kinds of old photographs, tintypes, postcards and albums for unbelievably low prices....



Paula and I bought a stash of old drawers originally from a nuts and bolts cabinet....



I am hoping to use mine in a grouping as a series of little shadow boxes....I am always inspired by assemblage artist Cheryl Kuhn....but don't expect to go that far....I know my limits!



I simply could not leave this early small hooked rug behind....calla lilies are daughter Kate's favorite flower...



Lots of beautiful old rosaries, medals, crosses and religious medallions ...these items I am sure held great meaning to their previous owners and perhaps do for some of you too....but today, for the decorators, who see beauty in their form as well as meaning, they represent a bit of Jeanne D'Arc Living?
I will finish up tomorrow...if my blogger storage comes through!

    Wow! You did find some great stuff! I worked at the antique shop this weekend and was unable to attend, but everyone I talked to said they found what they were looking for and more... How can you not with over 1000 dealers on the inside and my favorite...the many in 'town'. Tami E.

    I didn't know about the limits either. I am trying to find the information and now I see you get 1 free GB memory for photos. Could you possibly post more information about this since many of us obviously didn't know. I may have to start limiting what I put pictures up of. Questions I was wondering is how many (approx.) pictures will it take before I am out of space...do I gain space after any amount of time...how much does it cost to get 'x-amount' of space? So many questions!!!
    PS. Lots of beautiful items at the sale.

    I loved to go shopping with you, thanks for taking me along. Prizes over here are rocketing. Cabinet photos: between 1.50 and 5.00 euros (2.25-7.50 USD) a piece! Since the euroconversion a lot of dealers start at 1 euro a piece, like for the religious charms. I think that is expensive! I love those old letters! I have never seen them on a market over here that old. Here letters and photos are the typical things to buy at markets where dealers are 'housecleaners'. When somebody dies they come and clean the house. The relatives have already taken what they want and they pay for the cleaning. These housecleaners take what they think they can sell and throw away the rest. Sometimes you see such a 'life' on the market, sad actually. All letters. photo albums, school reports etc. from one person. But these letters are mostly from the 30-ties, 40ties but not much older.

    Huuuh - I am nearly speachless!
    In Austria (or better: in German language) we say "hecheln" when a dog is breathing with his tongue out of his mouth (the translater tells me, that is hackling in Engish...?) and we say "hechel, hechel!" if there is a thing, that we really want (lika a dog wants a sausage ;-))
    And so I only can say "hechel, hechel!""hechel, hechel!""hechel, hechel!""hechel, hechel!""hechel, hechel!"
    when I see all these treasures ;-))
