Summer Jewelry

I love this lariat necklace for its cool summery colors and silver beads...

I've been wearing it a lot this summer...

The aquas and turquoise just say ocean and beach!

What jewels are you wearing this summer?

I received an email yesterday from a lovely girl named Gail who is new to blogging and intends to share her adventures as she is an innkeeper of a bed and breakfast.

I always thought it would be fun to run a bed and breakfast...
...I guess many of us have fantasized about that....
I could decorate all the rooms with my thrifty finds and many collections....
...I could make blueberry pancakes...
...Mr. Flea could entertain with singalongs and his guitar.

I would have to get my sister MaryBeth to keep everything clean as a whistle though...
and probably sister Lynn to keep me organized...
...but...
... it is so much fun to dream, isn't it?

I am sure Gail would appreciate a warm welcome....
...if you have time pop over and say hello!

Just a Few Finds

Do I need another vintage typewriter?
No, but the price was right so I took it home with me.
It comes with a nice little case...
...and I will most likely sell it.

...and someone tell me to stop buying all these old brass stencils!
I just can't resist the numbers and letters...

A nice collection of old bottles.
The one on the left is from a Druggist in Johnstown, N.Y. which is not too far from here and where some of my mother's family came from.
A while ago, I found a larger sized etched bottle very similar to the second from left ...What did these etched bottles contain?

We're having some little ones stay with us again over the July 4th holiday....
...thought these blocks would be fun.

A trio of turquoise pottery...

A trio of matte green craftsman era pottery...

And three of these Jack in the Pulpit dishes which match my Mom's set which we have here at the lake house.

That's all the pictures I was able to take before the heavens let loose and more rain fell!
I'm really hoping that tomorrow it will be sunny all day!

So today I did lots of cleaning, some gardening and a bit of art.
Playing with paper dolls, stamps and tags...

I haven't spoken with a single soul today...
It sure is quiet up here!
:)
Have a great weekend!

Touch of Turquoise

Remember this little door that I found at Madison Bouckville in August?

I finally got around to cleaning off the dirt...while preserving the chippy paint as much as possible...A little bit of turquoise is peeking out from under the old white paint...

I'm loving the color...the blue green...the last of the summer skies and ocean seas...

Turquoise, blue, green...
...calm and peaceful...

Have a restful night!
